What our customers say about us
Great tour guide, but could be improved - The half day tour itself was really good - Puma was an engaging and energetic guide who not only had a lot of useful information, but made sure that we... read more were all involved in the experience. Exceptional, as was the driver!
Why is this not a 5? Firstly, we did not receive a text confirmation of the pick up time and were unable to confirm by phone - tried on several occasions and got a VM in Thai, although we left a message, there was no reply. We only got this bus because our daughter had been on the week before and could tell us the pick up time.
Secondly, it is just too long. An hour and a half at either end picking up and dropping off people meant 3 hours more than the half day was spent just sitting on a bus. Either arrange transport to a central hub or make this a full day - we started at 11:00 and were not back until 20:45 - almost 10 hours.
Phuket City Tour (half a day) - A shout out to the guide Jennifer (not here real name but easier for Western people to reminder). She really lifted this tour to the next level. Of course there... read more was the info about the places we visited but also more information about the local culture and customs.
She also had many extra things for us. A little gift at the end, baked banana (really tasty), pointing out which plants where used locally, which beaches to go and how. I wished I had booked it at my first day in Phuket not the last.
Also the organization put it quite some effort. First we weren't we enough people but even at 22pm they still informed me that enough were enlisted and asked me if I still wanted to go (had to leave the day after that)
We have travelled a lot, and this would easily be the worst tour we have done - ever. Picked up at 12pm - 30mins late which was okay.
The... read more tour guide, Puma, spoke very poor English (even though the tour stated that the guide spoke good English). Very hard to understand. Struggled to get her messages across and didn't really explain much about the sites we went to (or couldn't). In between sites it would have been great if she talked about Phuket and the area and what we were seeing, but no, she just talked to the driver in Thai. The lunch was supposed to be 2 courses at a food court type place in Phuket town. One chosen by the guide, the other you could choose for yourself. Apparently the one she normally chooses was all sold out for the day, "so just choose your one". No substitute was offered and no apology.
The last stop was Karon viewpoint - after dark, most people didn't get out of the van (get the hint?), after that instead of continuing around the coast to start dropping people off that were staying Karon Beach, we went all the way back to Chalong to drop off Puma, to then turn around and head back again in really bad traffic to start dropping people off. Got to Patong at 8.30pm and still had two more stops before heading to Tri Trang to drop us off. After 8.5 hrs we'd had enough, got out and went to a bar for some drinks. The 300TBT for a taxi home later was money well spent!! Totally overrated and would not recommend.
